Position Summary

The Shu Chien-Gene Lay Department of Bioengineering in the Jacobs School of Engineering at the University of California, San Diego is inviting applications for Research Scientists (non-tenured; Assistant, Associate or Full level) in Bioengineering. The interested labs include systems biology, biomaterials, biomechanics, tissue engineering and/or the manipulation of multicellular processes. At UC San Diego, Research Scientists are non-tenured, extramurally funded, academic researchers who develop and lead independent research and creative programs similar to Ladder Rank Professors. Research Scientists are expected to serve as Principal Investigators on extramural grants, generate high caliber publications and research products, engage in university and public service, continuously demonstrate independent and creative research activity of high quality and significance, and garner scholarly reputation.

 


Temporary Lecturer - UC San Diego Shu Chien-Gene Lay Department of Bioengineering

Position Summary

The Shu Chien - Gene Lay Department of Bioengineering in the Jacobs School of Engineering at the University of California, San Diego is seeking one or more temporary lecturers to teach one or two courses for the upcoming Academic Year (SP25, FA26, WI26, SP26 quarters). We are particularly interested in applicants with the expertise to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in bioengineering. This can include biomaterials and the fundamentals of materials science as applied to bioengineering design, biomechanics, tissue engineering and/or the manipulation of multicellular processes. Please see the Course Catalog for a complete listing of the courses we offer. The Jacobs School of Engineering is committed to building on UC San Diego’s campus-wide initiatives. All programs and initiatives coordinated by the Jacobs School and its units are designed and implemented in full compliance with Proposition 209 and the University of California Anti-Discrimination Policy. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Bioengineering, or a related Engineering or Health Sciences discipline, and must have demonstrated evidence of effective teaching.
