The UC San Diego Department of Bioengineering faculty are recognized nationally and internationally for outstanding scholarship, teaching, and research. They are available for consultation services and contracting for sponsored research projects, and may be contacted directly.
The primary faculty of 20 members includes 5 members of the National Academy of Engineering (NAE), and one Howard Hughes Medical Institute Professor. There are only 9 individuals in the world who have been inducted to all three academies. The Department of Bioengnieering has the honor of having 2 of the individuals on our faculty.
