Bioengineering Excellence and Innovation Fund

Your gracious donations provide opportunities for:
- Preparing students for tomorrow's challenges today - your generous donations will help support an instructional lab renovation that benefits undergraduate students by transforming educational space in the Powell Focht Bioengineering Hall. The expansion will enhance undergraduate education by increasing teaching lab capacity, increasing the number of labs that an undergraduate can take, and/or offering labs multiple times per year. This is critical laboratory expansion affecting time-to-degree and the undergraduate student experience.
- Enriching Educational Experiences - allows Bioengineering students to participate in National Scientific/Engineering Scholarly Conferences and Competitions
- Experiential Learning through Senior Design Projects - that realize innovation and are highly relevant to future careers in Bioengineering by promoting teamwork, leadership, and professional skills
- Building Community - allows outreach, recruitment, retention and advancement of students with a focus on equity, diversity and inclusion through networking activities, workshops, and events.
- UC Systemwide Symposium BIC 2024 at UC San Diego hosted by the Shu Chien-Gene Lay Department of Bioengineering. To learn more about this annual research symposium, visit the UC BIC 2024 website.
