Graduate Application

Hard copy applications are not available. To apply, please submit an electronic application. The electronic application is available through the Graduate Division website at https://connect.grad.ucsd.edu/apply/. If you are not able to access the electronic application, please contact vkhollingsworth@ucsd.edu. The application deadline for Fall 2021 is December 2, 2020 at 11:59PM PST.

Required Documents

1. Statement of Purpose - (electronic submission only)
Go to https://connect.grad.ucsd.edu/apply/  submit the Statement of Purpose via the electronic "Application."

2. Three Letters of Recommendation - (electronic submission only)

3. Official GRE Scores and TOEFL Scores (for international students only)
Prospective students should take the general GRE test by November 2020
. Request the Educational Testing Service (ETS) to send official scores to UCSD Institutional Code 4836 and Bioengineering Departmental Code 1603. For international students, the TOEFL Code is 69.

4. Official Transcripts of Prior Institutions Attended You may upload transcripts for initial review (do not send official transcripts until requested to do so!!). Please view uploaded transcripts for clarity. Illegible transcripts will disqualify your application from review. If there are problems with the upload or they are unviewable, please contact Vanessa Hollingsworth (vkhollingsworth@ucsd.edu) to make alternate arrangements. If you are admitted, you will be asked to send official transcripts from all prior institutions.
