Describe your background
My MS thesis title is “Gait Analysis using IMUs for Trans tibial Amputees using 3D printed Prostheses” and my job title is “Operations Engineer” at Amplify Surgical.
Describe your area of research and/or your area of specialty
I am currently working as an Operations Engineer at Amplify Surgical where I perform Research and Development on biportal endoscopic spine surgeries. For my thesis, I made a gait analysis module using IMUs for 3D printed trans tibial prosthesis.
Describe your involvement within the department and UC San Diego (were/are you involved in student orgs, recreation, certificate programs, internships, etc. outside of curricular requirements?)
I was in the organizing committee of the "Organ on a Chip Symposium"
Have you received any outstanding mentorship or guidance during your time in the program that made an impact on your research and/or the trajectory of your career?
I have always received phenomenal guidance from Prof Jeff Hasty and Prof Vira Kravets - both professional and personal!
Have you received any awards, graduate grants or fellowships that contributed to your success in the program?
I have been a TA five times during my two years at UC San Diego.
What has been your favorite part about your graduate experience in the program?
The amount of opportunities there are around campus to explore and enjoy. I really built my confidence and skill sets with all those experiences
