Seminar Information
As of 2019, heart failure (HF) afflicted 6.2 million Americans and its prevalence is expected to increase to about 8 million by 2030. HF prevalence increases with age and since life expectancy is continuing to increase, we need to search for novel strategies to treat this deadly disease in our aging population. In this talk, Dr. Rosas will discuss her research in progress regarding novel mechanisms with potential to treat aging-related cardiac dysfunction.
Dr. Rosas obtained her MD and Pharmacist degrees from Peru and her PhD from Texas A&M. In 2018 she joined the University of Illinois at Chicago as a Research Assistant Professor. Her current research focuses on discovering new mechanisms responsible for the high incidence of HF brought with aging.
