Speaker Bio

Pallav Kosuri is an Assistant Professor, Beckman Young Investigator, and Hearst Foundation Developmental Chair at the Salk Institute. His lab explores the mechanics of life using a suite of novel DNA-based sensing technologies combined with single-molecule microscopy and computational methods. Pallav earned his undergraduate degree in Engineering Physics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden; did his Masters Thesis in Atomic Physics at CERN; then got his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics from Columbia University where he was mentored by Dr. Julio Fernandez; and did his postdoctoral training with Dr. Xiaowei Zhuang at the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University. Since starting his lab at the Salk Institute in 2021 he has received awards including from Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation, the Curebound Foundation, the Chapman Foundation, and the W.M. Keck Foundation.
